Cynthia Erivo Rocks a Dress with Extra Hands at the ‘Wicked’ Mexico City Premiere, Joining Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey in an Enchanted Evening

Buy Me A Coffee

Last night, Mexico City got a surprise hand—well, several, actually—courtesy of Cynthia Erivo’s wildly creative fashion sense. The Wicked movie’s stars—Cynthia, Ariana Grande, and Jonathan Bailey—graced the Enchanted Forest-themed premiere on Monday, November 11. But let’s be honest, it was Cynthia’s gown that truly reached out and grabbed everyone’s attention—literally.

Yes, Cynthia showed up in a Thom Browne dress equipped with extra hands, as if she hadn’t already mastered multitasking enough in her everyday life. These shoulder-hands had all the elegance of a chic phantom limb, poised to wave, fist bump, or even shoulder shimmy at a moment’s notice. Fashion statement or life hack? Only Cynthia knows for sure, but if the red carpet was a haunted house, she’d be the one leading us through, unbothered and fully accessorized.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande floated along in a pink Atelier Versace gown so Glinda-esque that the real Glinda might be taking notes. The dress was peak fairy-tale glamour, which makes perfect sense for a woman who was essentially born to play Glinda. Ariana’s gown had just the right amount of sparkle, as if she’d been frolicking in the clouds on her way to Mexico City. If her dress had been any fluffier, she might’ve floated straight off the red carpet and into the heavens, trailing a glittery “thank u, next” behind her.

Not to be outdone, Jonathan Bailey also arrived in style, presumably channeling his inner Wizard vibes (or perhaps just the really well-dressed citizens of Oz). His polished look complemented the enchanted vibe, and it’s safe to say that between Cynthia’s spare hands, Ariana’s bubblegum-pink glam, and Jonathan’s understated charm, they could easily pass as the hottest, most magical crime-fighting trio on Earth.

Adding to the witchy nostalgia were Danna Paola and Cecilia de la Cueva, Mexico City’s OG Elphaba and Glinda from the Wicked stage production back in 2013. These two strolled in with the aura of legends returning to their kingdom, probably passing each other knowing nods and mouthing, “We did it first.”

Cynthia’s extra appendages stole the show, Ariana reminded us why pink will always be in, and the Enchanted Forest-themed evening gave Mexico City a taste of Wicked in ways it won’t soon forget. And next time you’re thinking about accessorizing, remember: two hands are great, but four might just get you noticed.
