Is Charli XCX brewing up some spicy drama over Camila Cabello’s latest drop?
The 27-year-old “Havana” sensation has been dropping hints about “I LUV IT,” the flagship single from her upcoming album, all over social media.
In one clip, Camila can be seen contorting around a car like she’s auditioning for the role of a car seat cover and hanging precariously out of a window.
Some eagle-eyed fans couldn’t help but notice the track’s striking resemblance to the 2017 banger “I Got It” by the 31-year-old “Von Dutch” diva, featuring Brooke Candy, Cupcakke, and Pabllo Vittar.
A day later, Charli swooped in like a mischievous meme queen, posting a video of herself in a car, pulling off some eerily similar moves while lip-syncing to the song, with a caption that was just a simple “lol.”
“THE CAMILLA SHADE OH MY GODDD,” one fan screeched into the digital void.
“SHADING ‘HER’ IS SO MESSY MS CHARLI I LOVE IT 😭😭😭,” cried out another, probably while clutching their pearls and simultaneously sipping on some tea.
These two aren’t strangers to sharing a stage or some songwriting magic: Charli lent her talents to co-write Camila’s mega-hit “Senorita” with Shawn Mendes. And let’s not forget their joint performance at the 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour with none other than the queen of snake-themed revenge anthems herself, Taylor Swift! Talk about a musical rollercoaster of shady love triangles and car-related theatrics! 🚗💥
