Channing Tatum recently opened up about a, let’s say, “memorable” pool party incident that could have been pulled straight from a sitcom script. While promoting his latest flick Blink Twice (which was apparently filmed in Mexico, aka the land of tacos and surprise tummy troubles), he sat down with Buzzfeed alongside co-star Zoe Kravitz to spill the tea—and pool water.
It all started innocently enough, as most good horror stories do. “Remember that party, Chan?” Zoe chimed in, probably smirking like she was in on a joke. “You and Simon Rex were wrestling in the pool like two oversized toddlers, and then… you guys swallowed pool water.”
Cue the dramatic pause. “We were in Mexico, remember? You know what comes next. You were puking your guts out!” Ah, yes. The universal sign of a top-tier vacation—vomiting profusely while regretting all of life’s decisions.
“Yeah,” Channing admitted, probably still having flashbacks. “For 12 hours straight. I couldn’t leave the bathroom. I basically lived in there.”
And if you think that’s bad, hold onto your swim trunks. “The doctor had to come over and give me a shot in the butt to fix it all,” Channing added. Because apparently, when life gives you lemons, Mexico gives you… shots in the butt?
But let’s not forget the silver lining. Zoe, ever the optimist, summed it up with a cheeky grin, “It was a sick party.” Pun most definitely intended.
Of course, the internet quickly diagnosed poor Channing with a classic case of “Montezuma’s Revenge,” otherwise known as Traveler’s Diarrhea, which is basically a fancier way of saying “your stomach hates you now.”
So, the moral of the story? If you’re planning on wrestling in a Mexican pool, maybe keep your mouth closed.
