The one and only Celine Dion is gracing us with her presence for a super rare, unicorn-level interview!
This past Friday (June 7), NBC teased us with a sneak peek of the 56-year-old “My Heart Will Go On” diva’s upcoming chat with Today’s Hoda Kotb. It’s Celine’s first TV interview since she dropped the bombshell about her Stiff-Person Syndrome diagnosis back in 2022.
In this juicy preview, Celine spills the beans on how this health hiccup has affected her golden pipes.
“It’s like someone’s got you in a headlock,” she says, raising her voice dramatically as if auditioning for a soap opera. “Like someone’s playing yo-yo with your larynx and pharynx.” She then demonstrated with her voice, sounding like a mix between a strangled goose and a deflating balloon. “You can’t hit the high notes, can’t hit the low notes. It’s like my voice went on strike.”
“It gets into a spasm,” Celine went on, her eyes wide. “It started in the throat. I thought, ‘Okay, no biggie, it’ll pass.’ But nooo, it had to visit the abdomen, the spine, the ribs—like it was on a sightseeing tour of my body.”
She described the stiffness as feeling like she’s been transformed into a living mannequin. “Point my feet, they stay pointed. Try cooking? My hands are like, ‘Nope, we’re staying in this weird crampy position.’”
Oh, and did I mention? She’s even broken ribs because of these severe spasms. Talk about dedication to drama!
So, if you want the full scoop, tune in to NBC on Tuesday, June 11 at 10pm ET to catch Celine’s full interview with Hoda. It’s bound to be a mix of heartfelt moments and dramatic flair, just like Celine herself!
