Brody Jenner just served up some family drama realness, and it’s juicier than a Kardashian-sponsored lip kit launch. The 41-year-old The Hills alum (yes, that’s still a thing) dished on where he stands with his very extended, very famous family — aka Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, and Rob Kardashian, plus Kendall and Kylie Jenner, because why not throw in a couple more billionaire siblings for fun?
ICYMI, Brody became stepbrother to the Kardashian clan when his dad, Caitlyn Jenner, tied the knot with Kris Jenner back in the ’90s. Then, in 2015, Kris and Caitlyn called it quits, leaving us all wondering: Do Brody and the Kardashians still hang out, or did their family WhatsApp group chat die along with Kris and Caitlyn’s marriage?
Brody on His Kardashian Connection
In a recent heart-to-heart on The Viall Files podcast, Brody basically said, “I love them… but from a very safe distance.” Like, a “texting-is-too-much-effort” distance.
“I love them all to death,” Brody declared presumably while polishing his reality TV star halo. “I just don’t see them.” Ouch. That’s celebrity code for *we’re not beefing, but I’m not spending Thanksgiving with you either.*
Apparently, there was a mini family reunion for Caitlyn’s birthday recently, but in classic Kardashian fashion, not everyone RSVP’d. Kim and Kourtney were “busy” (read: filming, feuding, or both), and Kylie? She skipped it entirely, possibly to attend a billionaire summit or name her next baby something edgy like Citrus.
“Close, But Not Call-Me-Maybe Close”
Brody spilled even more tea, explaining that while they didn’t grow up together (because blending families in Hollywood is more of a theoretical concept), the love is still there. “When we do see each other, it’s like no time has passed,” he shared, which is a nice way of saying, We’re cool, but don’t expect me to invite them over for Taco Tuesday.
That said, Brody insists he’d drop everything for his half-sisters Kendall and Kylie. “If Kylie or Kendall were to call me right now, I would walk out of this room and pick up the phone. I would be there for them,” he added. Note to Kylie: Maybe test this loyalty with a FaceTime at 3 a.m.
TL;DR
Brody loves his Kardashian-Jenner clan but doesn’t exactly have them on speed dial. It’s less Keeping Up With the Kardashians and more Catching Up With the Kardashians Whenever the Universe Aligns. In the meantime, we’ll be here waiting for Kylie to actually call Brody — and for Kris to inevitably turn all this into a new Hulu spin-off.
