Britney Spears just reminded the world (and her ex) that she’s still got the moves—and zero chill—when it comes to choosing a playlist.
The 43-year-old pop icon took to Instagram on Saturday (March 8) to twirl, spin, and serve cowboy-core realness while dancing to none other than her ex Justin Timberlake’s 2003 hit “Señorita.” Yes, THAT Justin Timberlake. The one who sang about crying rivers.
Dressed in a sheer black bodysuit, some dangerously high black suede boots, and a tan cowboy hat that screamed “Yeehaw, but make it pop star,” Britney performed in front of a fireplace because—let’s be honest—what better place to turn up the heat?
For those who forgot (or blocked it out for emotional reasons), Britney and Justin were the ultimate denim-clad couple from 1999 to 2002 after meeting on The Mickey Mouse Club and deciding, “Yes, we are both ridiculously talented. Let’s date.”
But wait—Britney wasn’t done. On the same day, she hit Instagram again, this time swapping her look and busting moves to Janet Jackson’s “That’s the Way Love Goes.” If this was a subliminal message to Justin, we’ll let the internet decode it.
Oh, and if you think Britney’s just randomly throwing in old JT bops without a care, let’s not forget her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, where she dropped some absolute bombshells about their past relationship.
Was this dance a casual bop to a catchy song? A reminder of who the real pop royalty is? A little bit of both? One thing’s for sure—somewhere out there, Justin Timberlake just clutched his frosted tips and sighed.
