Well, it’s official: Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix have reached a new height—literally! Thanks to Gaga’s skyscraper heels, the 38-year-old pop icon was eye-to-eye with the 49-year-old Oscar-winning heartthrob at the Joker: Folie à Deux premiere. Who needs a step ladder when you have stilettos that could double as a weapon?
As they strutted their stuff down the red carpet at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on September 30, it became clear that height differences are totally overrated. If you were wondering, Joaquin measures in at a modest 5′ 8″, while our little monster Gaga stands at a dazzling 5′ 1″—that’s right, she could totally fit in a carry-on!
Joining this dynamic duo were co-stars Catherine Keener and Harry Lawtey, who probably weren’t wearing shoes that could pierce the ozone layer, and the mastermind behind the chaos, director Todd Phillips.
Joaquin, looking suave as ever, had his wife, Rooney Mara, by his side, though they played a fun game of “let’s not pose together.”
And just for the fashion aficionados: Gaga rocked a stunning Celine dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry that sparkled brighter than her heels. So, while height might not be on her side, when it comes to fabulousness, Lady Gaga is soaring to new heights!
