Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal walked onto the CinemaCon 2025 stage Wednesday night (April 2) with the confidence of two men who have spent way too much time calculating tax deductions.
The dynamic duo, along with co-stars Daniella Pineda and Cynthia Addai-Robinson, plus director Gavin O’Connor, gathered at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to hype up The Accountant 2—the long-awaited sequel to the 2016 thriller about a math genius who, instead of doing your taxes, chooses to punch bad guys in the face.
Ben Affleck: “This Role Never Left Me” (Like, Literally?)
Ben Affleck, who is once again playing Christian Wolff, a numbers-crunching, butt-kicking accountant, got a little sentimental on stage.
“It does feel great to continue the story of The Accountant,” Ben said while likely resisting the urge to pull out a calculator for dramatic effect. “I’m thrilled to be playing this part again with this great cast. In some ways, I feel like this character never left me.”
This could mean one of two things: Either Ben has spent the last nine years secretly auditing Hollywood payrolls, or he’s been method-acting so hard that he’s been solving quadratic equations in his sleep.
### Daniella Pineda Promises High-Quality Punches
Meanwhile, Daniella Pineda took the mic to assure everyone that this movie isn’t just about tax forms and balance sheets—it’s got some seriously epic fight scenes too.
“I do have some pretty brutal fight scenes that will look awesome on your screens,” she teased, probably while imagining how many stunt doubles she sent home with bruises.
With Jon Bernthal also in the mix, one thing is certain: The Accountant 2 is going to have more action, more math, and possibly more Ben Affleck staring intensely at spreadsheets. CinemaCon attendees left the presentation knowing one thing for sure—numbers have never been this violent.
