In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adele spilled the beans on how her little munchkin turned into a miniature professor, schooling her on the intricacies of her own mom, Penny Adkins.
Gather ’round, because Adele, maestro of “Hello,” spilled the parenting tea like it was the last drop of her favorite wine. She goes, “I yak with my pals a ton about this kid business. My mates are popping out babies left and right. And let me tell ya, when you pop one out yourself, it’s like a nostalgia bomb goes off – childhood memories flashing before your eyes!”
With a smirk that could outshine a disco ball, Adele continued, “Doesn’t matter if your childhood was all sunshine and rainbows or more like a Netflix drama. You get all philosophical, thinking, ‘Do I want my little one reliving my childhood? Hell to the no.'”
She then dove deep into the Adele archives, saying, “So, my mom was basically a superhero. She had me when she was practically a kid herself. Flying solo, no sidekick. And here I was, sitting on my high horse, thinking, ‘Oh, she could’ve done this, she could’ve done that.’ Turns out, she was doing the best she could.”
In a moment of reflection, the “Easy on Me” songstress dropped some wisdom bombs, “It made me tip my imaginary hat to my mom. Now, I’m an older-woman daughter, dealing with my own little mischief-maker.”
Adele chuckled, “I realized how tough it must’ve been. We were living on a budget tighter than my skinny jeans. No dad in the picture. Compare that to me, chillin’ with Angelo’s pops. I’m living the glamorous mom life.”
“But, hey,” she added, “I’m not complaining. Money flows like confetti for me, and I’m spoiling my kiddo rotten. I mean, why settle for ‘properly’ when you can go ‘above and beyond’? Am I right?”
Getting all sentimental, Adele confessed, “Keeping a poker face with Angelo is my daily struggle. Sometimes, I wish I could be an open book. Then again, adulting is like trying to fold a fitted sheet – nobody said it was gonna be easy.”
Just in case you missed the Adele update, she and Simon Konecki, the charity exec, called it quits in 2019. But fear not, because Adele’s parenting adventures are making us laugh, cry, and secretly wish we were part of her star-studded mom squad. Cheers to Adele, the mom extraordinaire!
