Andrea Lewis took a trip down memory lane, diving into her days sharing the screen with none other than Hilary Duff.
In an interview that was probably more exclusive than the VIP section at Disneyland, the 38-year-old self-professed ‘Disney aficionado’ spilled the beans about her time working with Hilary Duff. They teamed up for the Disney Channel classic, Cadet Kelly.
With all the enthusiasm of a kid let loose in a candy store, Andrea gushed about her excitement to work with the Cinderella Story star. She confessed she didn’t initially realize what a big deal the project was. “I mean, I loved Disney Channel—Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire—those were my jam. And don’t even get me started on The Famous Jett Jackson. So when Cadet Kelly came along, I was like, ‘Oh, cool, another gig!’”
But then came the bombshell: finding out that Hilary and Christy Carlson Romano were onboard. “That’s when it hit me: ‘Whoa, this is kind of a big deal! Maybe even a huge deal!’”
Reflecting on the shoot itself, Andrea couldn’t help but reminisce, “It was seriously one of the most fun shoots ever—I mean, even today!”
And there were some behind-the-scenes shoutouts too. Andrea gave props to Hilary’s mom for being a total cheerleader for her and her own mom, saying, “Hilary and her mom were just awesome. They were like these career wizards, guiding us from the sidelines, telling us to chase our dreams and stand tall.”
For those who missed it (where have you been?!), Cadet Kelly hit screens on March 8, 2002, with Hilary rocking it as Kelly Collins and Andrea in the role of her trusty sidekick, Carla.
Ah, the memories! Who knew that making a Disney movie could be this much fun? Andrea Lewis, that’s who.
