Get ready to bust a gut, because Maya Rudolph brought back one of her all-time greatest hits during her gig hosting Saturday Night Live on May 11 – none other than the queen bee herself, Beyoncé Knowles.
Yep, the 51-year-old dynamo, known for her roles in “Bridesmaids” and “The Loot,” dusted off her Beyoncé impression, which she rocked back in her SNL days and later reprised in a hilarious Hot Ones parody in 2021.
Kicking off the show with a musical tribute to Queen Bey during her opening monologue, Maya set the stage for a laugh riot. And boy, did she deliver! Decked out in her Beyoncé gear once more, complete with a cowboy hat that would make even the Lone Ranger jealous, Maya jumped back into the hot seat for another round of the spicy interview show, Hot Ones.
But let’s just say, handling hot chicken wings and answering questions ain’t as easy as slaying a high note. Maya, in character as Beyoncé, struggled through the fiery interrogation, admitting, “This is the only thing I have attempted that I did not slay.” Ouch! Even Beyoncé has her kryptonite, it seems. And you bet it bothered both her and her hubby, Jay-Z.
Despite her best efforts, her second go-around wasn’t exactly a triumph. In fact, it ended with “Bey” making a break for it, her assistant scrambling to execute a Men In Black-style memory wipe. Classic Maya!
Who knew eating wings could be so perilous? But hey, if anyone can make a spicy chicken wing challenge side-splittingly funny, it’s Maya Rudolph channeling Queen Bey. Bow down, y’all!
