Season 2 of The Diplomat is about to explode onto your screens—quite literally! Netflix just launched the full-length trailer, and it’s more dramatic than a reality TV reunion special.

Here’s the tea for season 2: A kaboom in London rocks US Ambassador Kate Wyler’s world harder than your alarm clock on a Monday (Keri Russell is back to serve up stress). She’s got 99 problems, and now, a deadly explosion is definitely one of them. While Kate’s trying to glue together the shattered lives and a team that’s falling apart faster than a cheap IKEA bookshelf, her worst nightmare unfolds: That big bang wasn’t courtesy of some angry foreign nation. Nope, it came straight from the heart of the British government! That’s right, plot twist. Someone in Buckingham’s backyard is playing dirty.

To make matters juicier, her only trustworthy partner in this mess is none other than her almost ex-husband Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell). Yes, he’s back. Alive and kicking, and not-so-mysteriously still involved in her life. Talk about awkward. Add to the mix a tense relationship with British Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi)—because why not throw in some workplace drama—and a nerve-wracking visit from Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney), who probably isn’t popping by for tea and crumpets. Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh also join the chaos, because what’s a political thriller without a few more stress-inducing faces?

Oh, and for those of you worried about Hal’s fate, breathe easy! The trailer confirms that Kate’s “almost ex-husband” is indeed very much alive. Phew! Now we can all focus on the fact that he’ll probably continue to make things extra complicated.

Mark your calendars, because this diplomatic drama is landing on Netflix on October 31, just in time to scare you more than your Halloween costume ever could!
