The Schitt’s Creek cast is back, baby, and they stormed the 2024 Emmy Awards like it was their own personal family reunion—awkward hugs and all! On Sunday, September 15, the fab four of funny—Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy—descended upon the Peacock Theater in LA to remind us that no one can exit a stage (or an awards show) quite like they can.
After hours of fancy people handing other fancy people shiny trophies, the Schitt’s Creek crew had the ultimate mic drop moment, closing out the night with some farewell remarks. And let’s be real, when the Levys are saying goodbye, you’re listening. You can’t leave the party just yet.
Before they bid adieu, father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy tag-teamed the hosting duties like the iconic comedic pair they are. They even roped in Annie Murphy to introduce the legend herself, Catherine O’Hara, who floated onto the stage in what could only be described as a glittering cloud of grace and sass to present the final award of the night. We assume everyone else just gave up at that point—there’s no topping Catherine.
Not to be left out of the party, the ever-stylish Emily Hampshire showed up with former Queer Eye star Bobby Berk, likely to provide moral support and interior design tips for the theater’s dressing rooms. Bobby probably redesigned the entire red carpet in his spare time.
Now, if your memory’s hazy (we’ve all had a long few years), you might recall that back in 2020, Schitt’s Creek didn’t just win Emmys—they stole the whole show. Nine shiny statues, people! They practically built a trophy fort, winning for everything from Outstanding Comedy Series to Lead Actor, Actress, Supporting roles, Writing, Directing, Casting, and even Costumes! (Yes, costumes. Moira’s wigs were art, and the Emmys knew it.)
To kick things off this year, Eugene and Dan couldn’t resist throwing a little nod to their Emmy-sweeping show during their opening monologue, proving that even after all these years, Schitt’s Creek is still the coolest town on TV.
As for the outfits, in case you were wondering (and we know you were): Catherine O’Hara was decked out in Oscar de la Renta, accessorized with Jared jewelry, a Judith Leiber clutch, and sky-high Christian Louboutin shoes. She could probably slay dragons in that outfit. Meanwhile, Emily Hampshire rocked up in Dolce & Gabbana, because duh.
And that’s how you bring the house down, Schitt’s Creek style!
