‘That’s So Raven’ Star Rondell Sheridan Hospitalized—His Pancreas Is Throwing a Full-On Tantrum

Buy Me A Coffee

Well, Victor Baxter—a.k.a. America’s favorite fictional TV dad from That’s So Raven—is having a very un-psychic week.

Rondell Sheridan, the 66-year-old legend who once had to deal with Raven’s wild visions and chaotic teen schemes, is now dealing with something even more dramatic than a Disney Channel plotline: his pancreas going full diva.

In a video posted from his not-so-suite hospital bed on Instagram (May 7), Rondell gave fans a health update and it wasn’t great. Nearly a month ago, on April 10th, he suddenly got super sick on the road. Initially, doctors thought it was just your classic “I ate gas station sushi” kind of situation. But surprise—plot twist—it was severe pancreatitis. That’s right, his pancreas said, “I’m the star now,” and has been on a fiery rampage ever since.

“Tons of tests. I was in the hospital for nine days,” he said, clearly not auditioning for any medical drama, but still managing to make House jealous.

Though he was discharged, his pancreas had other plans—basically shouting, “You thought I was done?!” It’s still inflamed and honestly just being the most high-maintenance organ right now. According to the Cleveland Clinic (and also every person who’s had the misfortune of Googling it at 2 a.m.), pancreatitis symptoms include: upper belly pain, back pain, fever, vomiting, and a general vibe of “why is this happening to me?!”

Because of all this, Rondell’s been forced to take a break from work—and not the fun “I’m going to Bali” kind of break. He’s started a GoFundMe to help with his medical expenses, and good news: generous fans have already chipped in over $49,000.

> “I didn’t realize I was going to be, and will be, out of work for quite some time,” he said, politely asking for donations the way only a wholesome sitcom dad could.

So if you’ve ever laughed at Victor Baxter’s exasperated dad face, now’s the time to give back. Let’s be real—this man spent years pretending his daughter could see the future. The least we can do is help him handle a pancreas that’s acting like a season finale cliffhanger.

Hang in there, Rondell. You made it through Raven’s visions—your pancreas doesn’t stand a chance.
