The royal family has gone full Swiftie!
Taylor Swift snapped a selfie with none other than Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte during her Eras Tour in London on June 21. This epic moment was immortalized in a photo shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account, making royal history and breaking the internet simultaneously.
In the photo, Swift, 34, beams beside the royals, arm outstretched and phone in hand, capturing the moment like a pro. The caption read, “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour,” because even royals know the power of a good hashtag.
Swift didn’t miss a beat and posted her own Instagram pic with the birthday boy Prince William, 42, and his adorable sidekicks, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 9. And of course, her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, was there too, because what’s a royal concert selfie without a touch of NFL charm?
“Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start 🇬🇧🇺🇸🤝,” Swift wrote, casually reminding everyone she’s on a first-name basis with Prince William. No big deal.
The royal fam got their groove on at Wembley Stadium for the first night of the tour. Rumor has it Prince William was seen busting out some serious dad moves to “Shake It Off,” proving once and for all that royals can rock out too.
Meanwhile, 6-year-old Prince Louis stayed home with mom Kate, 42, probably building Lego castles and plotting his own concert takeover. The Princess of Wales has been laying low, focusing on her health, but made a dazzling appearance at Trooping the Colour on June 15. It was her first public outing since Christmas, showing the world she’s still got that royal sparkle.
Future royal engagements will depend on Kate’s health, but rest assured, she’ll be back when she’s ready to shake things up, guided by her medical team and the royal playbook.
In a move straight out of a fairytale, the royal guard welcomed Swift to London on June 21 by playing “Shake It Off” in front of Buckingham Palace. The caption? “Can’t stop, won’t stop groovin’🫡🥁🎺.” That’s right, even the guards are in on the Swiftie fever.
Prince William has had a soft spot for Swift for years. Remember in 2013 when she led him on stage at a Centrepoint charity event to sing “Livin’ on a Prayer” with Jon Bon Jovi? Iconic. And in 2023, he couldn’t help but fangirl over Swift at the Tusk Conservation Awards, chatting about her with rocker Ronnie Wood.
Not to be left out, Meghan Markle joined the Swiftie club too, catching Taylor’s show in Los Angeles in August 2023. Because when it comes to Taylor Swift, even royals can’t resist the magic.
