Taylor Swift is having a little fun with Kanye West—because why not? It all started with her track “thanK you aIMee” from her album The Tortured Poets Department. Fans were already buzzing that the song title might be a cheeky nod to Kim Kardashian. But wait, there’s more!
Taylor’s dropped a live version of the song, and guess what? She tweaked the title to “thank You aimEe,” but this time, she’s cranked up the shade factor by capitalizing “YE,” Kanye’s rap nickname. Oh, Taylor, you crafty genius!
This playful jab comes right on the heels of Kanye’s failed attempt to overthrow Taylor’s album from the top spot on the Billboard 200. Taylor’s album has been cruising at number one for a 14th week, while Kanye’s Vultures 2 could only manage a humble 107,000 units in its debut week. That’s a steep drop from his previous 11 albums, which all landed at number one. Looks like Kanye’s streak has officially hit a speed bump!
So, not only is Taylor throwing shade, she’s practically throwing a shade parade. You go, girl!
