T.I. is throwing in the towel and retiring from the stage! That’s right—your favorite hip-hop uncle, at the sprightly age of 44, has decided it’s time to hang up the microphone and kick back with a bowl of popcorn instead of sweating on stage for your entertainment.
During a recent radio chit-chat on 96.1 The Beat’s Rari at 2—where the beats are hotter than a jalapeño in July—T.I. spilled the beans about his grand exit. He declared that his upcoming gig would be the final curtain call in his performing career. “Thank you, thank you, thank you for this last hurrah,” he quipped. “I’m not hurting for cash, so I’m done hopping around like a caffeinated kangaroo for your amusement. I just can’t do it anymore!”
When asked if he’d consider picking up the phone for any new gigs, T.I. casually replied, “Oh, you bet your sweet bippy I will! I’ll answer just to say ‘Nope!’”
While he claims he’s essentially hanging up his dancing shoes, he did leave the door slightly ajar, saying he might perform again—on his own terms, of course. That’s code for: “Only if it involves a comfy chair, snacks, and zero sweat!”
His farewell performance is scheduled for December 19th at the 93.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball in Atlanta, where he’ll be joined by other superstars like Tinashe, Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, Khalid, and The Kid LAROI. It’s basically a musical potluck, and T.I. just brought the “retirement” casserole!
And just in case you were wondering, T.I. and his partner-in-crime, Tiny, recently hit the jackpot in a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a toy company. So, it looks like he can retire in style—sipping piña coladas while watching reruns of his own music videos. Cheers to that, T.I.! 🍹✨
