Saturday Night Live is officially hitting snooze for a couple of weeks. That’s right — after three weekends of comedy chaos, weird wigs, and at least one sketch where someone breaks character and giggles (we see you, Pete Davidson), SNL is going dark until May 3rd. Go ahead, Lorne, enjoy your vacation. You’ve earned it.
But when the lights come back on at 30 Rock? It’s gonna be ✨vibes✨.
Drumroll, please! (Preferably from someone in a sparkly suit.)
Quinta Brunson is back in Studio 8H to host again! Yep, she’s returning for Round 2, because clearly one Emmy-winning visit just wasn’t enough. If you thought her first time hosting was iconic, buckle up. The woman might just roast the entire cast into oblivion and write a better sketch than anyone else in the building while doing it.
Joining her on stage — and trying not to pass out from nerves — is Benson Boone, making his very first SNL musical guest appearance. It’s giving “freshman year excitement meets senior prom levels of pressure.” Benson, buddy, breathe. You got this.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Benson isn’t just some random guy with a guitar. No, no. The man just made his Coachella debut, and casually brought out Brian May from QUEEN to perform “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Like… sir?? Who let you be this bold??
Also, fun fact: he dropped news of his new album, American Heart, because clearly this week he said, “I will not rest until every millennial mom and Gen Z teen is emotionally devastated.”
Meanwhile, Quinta’s SNL hosting résumé dates back to 2023, and honestly? It was a serve. She brought the heat, the humor, and probably better cue card-reading than half the cast.
Recent SNL episodes have been hosted by a wild mix of chaos agents and icons, including Jack Black (forever unhinged in the best way), Lady Gaga (who can do no wrong), Timothée Chalamet (TikTok’s boyfriend), and Shane Gillis (sure, why not?). And the musical guests? It’s been a party with everyone from Tate McRae to Morgan Wallen, Brandi Carlile, GloRilla, and even Sir Elton John, who we’re convinced lives in a rhinestone piano.
So mark your calendars. Stock up on snacks. Get emotionally prepared.
SNL returns May 3rd with Quinta Brunson and Benson Boone. It’s gonna be funny, it’s gonna be musical, and hopefully no one breaks a set piece mid-sketch (again).
