Cancer-stricken Shannen Doherty is taking a swing at her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko, accusing him of playing the ultimate game of “keep away” with spousal support while she’s busy fighting off both her cancer and a nosedive in income now that “Charmed” isn’t charming anyone on streaming platforms anymore.
According to People, the court documents read like a soap opera script. The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress says her ex-hubby is playing hide and seek with his financial info, apparently enjoying the delay like a kid stalling bedtime.
The 53-year-old claims he’s dragging his feet in the hopes that her breast cancer, diagnosed back in 2015, will take her out of the picture—quite literally—so he can dodge any responsibility faster than you can say “alimony.”
“It’s beyond wrong that Kurt’s trying to outlast me like I’m in some kind of grim endurance race, hoping I’ll kick the bucket before he has to open his wallet,” argues Shannen, wielding her veteran actress chops to perfection.
But hold onto your popcorn, because Kurt’s lawyers fired back with their own plot twist. They claim Shannen turned down a settlement offer last year, suggesting she’s not exactly racing to the finish line of this divorce drama herself.
“Kurt isn’t just ‘waiting for Shannen to die,’” lawyer Katherine Heersema retorts, probably while adjusting her monocle. “He genuinely wants what’s best for Shannen and for both of them to wrap up this legal circus and move on.”
Shannen, meanwhile, says she nixed the deal because it danced around the important issues, like the creative works Kurt whipped up during their marriage and his potential to make bank in the future.
The story of Shannen and Kurt dates back to 2008, with a whirlwind romance that culminated in their tying the knot in 2011. But after over a decade of marital bliss—or at least something that resembled it—they decided to call it quits in 2023. And now, it seems, the drama has only just begun.
