Our favorite hip-shaking, record-breaking, wolf-howling queen, Shakira, has just made history (again). The 48-year-old Colombian legend just pulled off an epic seven-night takeover of Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, officially becoming the first artist EVER to do so. That’s right—seven sold-out concerts in one venue. Meanwhile, I can’t even get seven people to like my Instagram post. 😭
But wait—SHE’S NOT DONE! The queen will return in August to break her own record because apparently, setting records and casually destroying the competition is just her hobby. Beyoncé, Taylor, are you taking notes?
AWARDS, CERTIFICATIONS, AND ENOUGH PLATINUM TO BUILD A SPACESHIP 🚀
During her Mexico City stop, Shakira received so many awards, she probably needed a separate tour bus just to carry them. Concert promoter OCESA handed her a shiny plaque for those seven sold-out shows, because, well, what else do you get someone who already has a billion Grammys and a seat at the “Legends Only” table?
Oh, and Sony Music México also jumped in, gifting her a truckload of certifications for her latest album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran—which, by the way, is doing better numbers than my bank account will ever see.
Among the awards:
🏆 “Inevitable” – Double Diamond + Platinum + Gold (because it’s inevitable that Shakira wins at life)
🏆 “La Bicicleta” – Double Diamond + Quadruple Platinum (Casual.)
🏆 “La Tortura” – Diamond + Quadruple Platinum + Gold (The real torture is trying to keep up with her success.)
🏆 “Waka Waka” – Diamond + Platinum + Gold (Still making people dance at weddings.)
🏆 “She Wolf” – Diamond + Double Platinum + Gold (GRRRRRR, give her another trophy.)
🏆 “Suerte (Whenever, Wherever)” – Quadruple Platinum + Gold (Lucky for us, she’s still making hits.)
BREAKING BILLBOARD LIKE IT’S A PIÑATA 🎶📈
Shakira also just became the first Latin female artist to snatch the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Tour Ranking, because duh. Her tour has already sold 282,000 tickets, and that’s just the warm-up act.
WANNA SEE HER LIVE? HERE’S YOUR CHANCE! 🎟️💃
The Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour is blazing through Latin America and the U.S. before circling back for more Mexico madness in August. Get your tickets before they’re gone faster than your dignity on karaoke night.
