Sebastian Stan is officially dragging Donald Trump, and honestly, we’re here for it. The 42-year-old Winter Soldier actor—who is apparently trading his Marvel shield for the role of young Donald Trump (yes, you read that right)—showed up in style at the BFI London Film Festival on Tuesday (October 15). And if his words were weapons, let’s just say he went full Captain America on the former President.
Joined by Maria Bakalova (who you might know as “the daughter from Borat 2”) and Succession’s Jeremy Strong, along with director Ali Abbasi, the star-studded crew hit the red carpet for the UK premiere of The Apprentice. But this was no ordinary movie promo—Sebastian decided to roast Trump like he was headlining a Comedy Central special.
When asked if the film might sway U.S. voters, Sebastian didn’t mince words. “Look, I’m not saying this movie will change minds,” he began, “but I am saying people need to start doing their own research. Like seriously, if you’re forming your political opinions based on memes and Instagram reels, maybe it’s time to log off for five minutes.”
Then things got spicy. “Trump’s out here, trying to shut down this movie faster than a WiFi outage,” Sebastian quipped. “Meanwhile, he’s running around waving the free speech flag like it’s on clearance at Walmart. That’s some next-level hypocrisy right there. It’s like saying you’re on a diet but hiding Twinkies in your glovebox.”
Stan went on to drop some philosophical gems: “This movie isn’t just about politics—it’s about trust. Like, forget the policies for a second. Just vibe check this guy. Do you trust him to hold your phone while you go to the bathroom? If the answer is no, maybe don’t trust him with nuclear codes either.”
Honestly, between the words and the sass, Sebastian served enough tea to flood the Thames.
The Apprentice is now out in U.S. theaters, and whether or not it’ll swing the election, one thing is clear: Sebastian Stan just put on a masterclass in how to roast a political figure without breaking character.
