Ryan Seacrest is giving a shout-out to Pat Sajak, the legendary letter-turning guru.
On Friday (June 7), Pat, who’s been gracing our screens longer than most of us have been alive, spun his last wheel on Wheel of Fortune after a whopping 41 years. That’s right, 41 years of making sure we know our vowels from our consonants.
After the grand finale, Ryan, who’s still a sprightly 49, hopped on Instagram to shower Pat with some digital love.
“Pat, you absolute legend! Congrats on an epic run with Wheel of Fortune! Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a staple in American TV. Seriously, what else would we watch while waiting for dinner?” Ryan penned, sharing a pic and a video of himself hanging out on the Wheel set with Pat and the ever-fabulous Vanna White.
“Your team-up with Vanna? Iconic. Together, you’ve created a gazillion memories for viewers and probably made us all feel a bit better about our lackluster Scrabble skills,” Ryan gushed. “You’ve set the hosting bar higher than the price of a vowel, and this is truly the end of an era. Best of luck with whatever you’ll be spinning next!”
Pat dropped the bomb about his retirement in June 2023, and in a plot twist that shocked no one, Ryan was revealed as his successor a few weeks later.
