Ryan Seacrest Tributes Pat Sajak On His First Episode Co-Hosting ‘Wheel Of Fortune’

In a world where spinning a giant, glittery wheel can make you a millionaire (or just really good at buying vowels), Ryan Seacrest has entered the chat. Yes, your American Idol whisperer is now the new voice of Wheel of Fortune. Pat Sajak, the wheel-spinning wizard of 40+ years, has stepped down, and in swoops Ryan, all smiles and hair gel, ready to take over the hot seat… without even dropping Pat’s name. Sneaky, right?

As the cameras rolled and the wheel began its mesmerizing spin, Ryan kicked things off with, “So happy to be here!” (Translation: OMG, I can’t believe they hired me!) He went on, “I still can’t believe my luck in being here with you tonight, to continue this legacy of this incredible show with all of you, and of course my good friend Vanna White.” Vanna White, naturally, remained the queen of vowel delivery, as unfazed as ever by Ryan’s exuberance.

He then said what we were all waiting for: “Hosting Wheel of Fortune is a dream job.” Yes, you heard it right. Apparently, while you were dreaming of flying unicorns and pizza that never runs out, Ryan was dreaming of spinning wheels and phrases like “I’d like to solve the puzzle!” What a childhood!

Ryan also shared a touching tribute (without actually saying Pat’s name, because why ruin the mystery?): “I know I’ve got some very big shoes to fill — so let’s play.” And by “big shoes,” we all know he means those Pat-sized loafers that have been standing next to Vanna’s sparkly heels for four decades. That’s right, Pat Sajak: the man, the myth, the legendary puzzle commander.

So, while Ryan didn’t mention Pat directly, the elephant in the room (or should I say, the pair of loafers in the studio?) was impossible to ignore. But hey, Ryan’s here to make his mark… and maybe buy a vowel or two. Now, let’s see if he can keep up with the spinning wheel of destiny. Stay tuned!
