Get ready to see Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell back together on your TV screens! No, they’re not breaking out of another prison, but they are diving headfirst into a new drama called Snatchback. Think less orange jumpsuits and more James Bond meets The A-Team.
The dynamic duo, who first captured our hearts and possibly our wallets on Prison Break, are joining forces again. According to Variety, they’re working on Snatchback, a show that’s currently cooking up in the development kitchen.
Not only will Dominic be flashing his intense stare on screen, but he’s also rolling up his sleeves as an executive producer. And he’s not doing it alone! His wife, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, and Dannah Axelrod Summers, under the banner of HopeTown Entertainment, are also in on the action. It’s a family affair, y’all!
So, what’s Snatchback all about? Picture this: a team of super-skilled operatives who could probably parallel park a spaceship while blindfolded, jetting off to exotic and dangerous locations to rescue hostages. The whole thing is inspired by a real-life covert intelligence officer who’s still out there today, probably blending into the background like a spy in a bad disguise.
Scott Rosenbaum, the mastermind with a pen, is both writing and executive producing this thrill ride. Universal Television is the lucky studio putting this project together, probably with a lot of coffee and very little sleep.
Tish Cyrus-Purcell, clearly excited, shared, “We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team with such talented individuals. Rosenbaum has crafted an emotionally charged and high stakes world where Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller reunite, bringing to the screen the extraordinary heroes of a real-life private hostage recovery team.” Translation: it’s going to be a rollercoaster of emotions and explosions.
If you thought these two were done after their prison-breaking days, think again! They also shared screen time on The CW’s The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. They’re like the peanut butter and jelly of action TV!
And for those holding out hope for a Prison Break reboot with these two—sorry to burst your bubble. Wentworth Miller has put his foot down, saying he’s done with that character for good. But hey, we can still dream about a world where they’re breaking into places instead of out.
So, grab your popcorn, and maybe some spy gadgets, because Snatchback is on its way to rescue your TV-watching nights!
