Prince William was basically throwing a royal tantrum, complete with a crown askew, when he found out that the enchanting Taylor Swift wasn’t going to grace the historic Coronation concert with her presence.
Our dear Prince of Wales had reportedly been more pumped than a corgi in a tennis ball factory, eagerly anticipating the live magic of his favorite musician at his father King Charles’ shindig. The coronation weekend was supposed to be a majestic symphony of events and high-profile appearances, but it turns out it was missing the crucial note of Taylor Swift, and Prince William was not having it.
While Katy Perry, Gary Barlow, Paloma Faith, and Lionel Richie were there to party like it was 1799 and celebrate King Charles and Queen Camilla’s grand event with their tunes, Taylor Swift apparently missed the royal memo and didn’t grace Windsor Castle on the 7th of May. Talk about a royal RSVP fail!
In the scandalously juicy tell-all, “Endgame,” royal author Omid Scobie spilled the tea, claiming that Taylor got an invite but chose to be somewhere else, probably entangled in a glittery web of cats and catchy tunes. Whether the palace sent her a golden carriage or not is still a mystery, but at the time of the concert, Taylor was apparently rocking her US Eras tour, proving once again that she’s got better things to do than attend royal soirées.
Taylor was busy strutting her stuff in Nashville on the 6th of May and had a date with Philadelphia on the 12th of May. No, not a romantic date, but a date with a microphone and thousands of screaming fans. This wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision either; the dates were etched in stone, or more likely, glitter, back in November 2022, according to the pop culture oracle known as Variety.
In Taylor’s absence, the show must go on, and go on it did, albeit without the sparkle and shimmer that only Swift can bring. Insiders spilled the royal tea that Prince William, a die-hard Swiftie, felt the absence like a king without a scepter. He had visions of shaking it off with Taylor in the regal halls, but alas, it was not to be.
Our future King William, not one to shy away from expressing his love for T-Swizzle, apparently brought up the pop sensation during a casual chat at the 2023 Tusk Conservation Awards in London. Picture this: a prince in a tuxedo dropping Taylor’s name like the hottest gossip in Buckingham Palace. He practically declared, “I would give up my crown for a day if we could just get Taylor Swift to drop by.”
Prince William, the charming royal who just wants to dance in a glitter storm with Taylor Swift. Can someone please organize a royal Taylor Swift concert already? It’s what the people (and princes) want!
