Mikey Madison’s Oscars Win: A Fever Dream, A Text to Demi Moore, and Absolutely No Preparedness

Mikey Madison is still pinching herself after nabbing the Best Actress award at the 2025 Oscars—and honestly, same. The 25-year-old powerhouse took home the trophy for her work in Anora, beating out legendary nominees like Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo, and Karla Sofia Gascon. And now? She’s floating through life in a daze, probably forgetting where she put her car keys but never where she put her golden statue.

Surreal? Absolutely. Prepared? Not Even a Little Bit.

Chatting with The Hollywood Reporter, Mikey admitted she was still trying to process her big win:

“I’m still kind of floating in a dreamlike state. It was a very, very surreal night—kind of like when you wake up and realize you texted your ex at 2 AM. Exciting, confusing, and a little terrifying.”

And as for preparation? Ha. Ha ha. No.

“I was like, ‘Should I write down some names just in case?’ And then at the last minute, I did. And thank goodness, because otherwise, I would’ve just gone up there and thanked my cat and the barista who made my coffee that morning.”

Demi Moore, Texts, and Sisterhood
Post-win, Mikey found time to text none other than Demi Moore, because when you beat an icon for an Oscar, you obviously shoot them a quick “hope we’re still cool?” message.

“I adore Demi. She’s one of the sweetest, kindest women I’ve ever met. I can’t wait to see what she does next. I think we’re all just eagerly waiting for her next move—kind of like when you send a risky text and stare at your phone, waiting for those three dots to appear.”

She also shared a hug with fellow nominee Fernanda Torres, proving that even in the cutthroat world of Hollywood, there’s room for some wholesome, supportive energy.

Anora Makes History
Oh, and by the way? Mikey’s film Anora didn’t just win big—it made history. With five awards under its belt, the movie basically swept the Oscars like a Roomba on turbo mode.

Moral of the story? If you’re up for an Oscar, maybe—just maybe—write down a couple of names beforehand. And also, always text Demi Moore.
