The Queen of Pop has graced us with her royal presence! Yes, Madonna, the one and only, decided to trade in her cone bra for some red carpet glam, strutting her stuff at the premiere of the most anticipated buddy-cop superhero flick of the year: Deadpool & Wolverine!
At a sprightly 65 years young, Madonna waltzed into Lincoln Center, New York City, on Monday night (July 22), flanked by her 11-year-old twin dynamos, Estere and Stella. Picture this: a music legend and her mini-me powerhouses taking on the city that never sleeps. Someone call Marvel, because this is a superhero team-up we didn’t know we needed!
So, what lured Madonna out of her material world and into the glitzy realm of premieres? None other than the irresistible allure of seeing her iconic hit “Like a Prayer” immortalized in the movie! Ryan Reynolds, our favorite wisecracking mercenary, made a pilgrimage to Madonna’s lair, probably armed with charm, wit, and a chimichanga or two, to plead for her sacred tune.
Director Shawn Levy spilled the beans on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show, recounting the epic quest to Madonna’s castle: “We had to make a personal visit to Her Madgesty, showing her the exact moment her song would light up the screen. It was like presenting a royal decree!”
Ryan Reynolds chimed in, “Let’s not kid ourselves. Madonna doesn’t just hand out licenses to ‘Like a Prayer’ like they’re candy. It’s her crown jewel! We practically had to summon the Avengers just to get a meeting. But once we showed her how we planned to use the song, she was like, ‘Oh, you have GOT to do this!’”
And guess what? Madonna didn’t just bless the movie with her song. She sprinkled a bit of her mystical pop fairy dust on it too! Ryan confessed (via People), “She gave us a note – not like a Post-it note, more like a divine commandment. She said, ‘You need to do this.’ And you know what? She was spot on! We hustled into a recording session faster than you can say ‘Vogue.’ And bam, the sequence went from awesome to epic!”
Madonna, Deadpool, Wolverine, and a sprinkle of “Like a Prayer.” It’s the crossover event of the century we didn’t know we needed but are absolutely here for. Long live the Queen!
