LISA is here, and she’s taking over everything—like, EVERYTHING. The 27-year-old BLACKPINK queen, also known as the international CEO of Slaying, made her solo festival debut on Saturday (September 28), at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s iconic Central Park. That’s right, while you were probably just lounging in sweatpants, Lisa was out there commanding stages and hearts.
Her performance? Oh it was so energetic that even Central Park’s squirrels were bopping along. She treated the audience to her chart-toppers “Rockstar” and “New Woman,” as well as “Lalisa” (you know, that song that gets stuck in your head for six weeks minimum) and, of course, the money-maker itself: “Money.” Those banknotes don’t just fly, people—they soar when Lisa’s in charge.
But wait, there’s more! Because this queen doesn’t just drop hits; she teases us with what’s to come. She previewed her upcoming single, “Moonlit Floor,” which, in a move that can only be described as “genius,” samples the iconic ’90s bop “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer. I mean, is there any song more perfect for a moonlit jam? Nope, didn’t think so. On the track, Lisa sings, “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight / Kiss me, out on the moonlit floor.” (Yes, she makes Parisian romance sound even cooler than it already is. How is that possible?!)
And if you’re still reeling from the festival vibes, buckle up, because Lisa isn’t done yet. It was also revealed that she’s bringing her superstar swagger to the runway next month for the return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City. So basically, Lisa is coming for your stages, your playlists, and now, your catwalks. Watch out world, LISA WORLD DOMINATION™ is in full effect!
Lisa, out here proving that there’s nothing money, moonlight, or a little BLACKPINK magic can’t conquer.
