Once upon a time, in a world where rock legends and reality TV royalty collide, Kelly Osbourne, the sparkly offspring of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, dipped her toes into the wild waters of the music industry. She gifted the world with two albums—*Shut Up* in 2002 and *Sleeping in the Nothing* in 2005. Fast forward to now, and Kelly is taking a hilarious stroll down memory lane, pondering her musical past on the latest episode of her family’s podcast, *The Osbournes*.
In a conversation that aired on Tuesday (July 2), Kelly, now 39 and still as fabulous as ever, admitted that she has a teeny-weeny bit of regret about hanging up her microphone. “I’ve definitely thought about [getting back into music],” she mused. “I’ve definitely thought about what my life would have been like if I didn’t stop. It’s definitely a regret. Will I do anything about that regret? I don’t know. Maybe I’ll start a polka band. Who knows?”
When the family decided to delve into the why behind Kelly’s musical adieu, her mom, Sharon, chimed in with, “She was a rebel,” while her dad, the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, offered the one-word summary: “Drugs.” Ah, Ozzy, always the poet.
Kelly, ever the storyteller, painted a picture of her chaotic life back in the day. “I was doing so much TV, so much touring, so much publicity, and so many interviews. It was like I was in a hamster wheel made of microphones and camera flashes,” she reminisced. “I wanted to go out and have fun, but my life was all work and no play. I didn’t know how to balance it all. I was basically a one-woman circus without the clown makeup.”
The candid Kelly didn’t hold back about her struggles. “It was bad. I covered up a lot of my insecurity and all the naysaying with drugs. Drugs were my magical invisibility cloak,” she confessed. “I numbed myself with it all. It was like being stuck in a really boring episode of *The Twilight Zone*. Eventually, I had to choose myself over all of that craziness.”
And so, the legend of Kelly Osbourne’s short-lived yet unforgettable music career lives on, sprinkled with a dash of regret, a hint of nostalgia, and a whole lot of rock ‘n’ roll chaos. Will she return to the stage? Will there be a comeback tour featuring her polka band dreams? Only time will tell. Stay tuned!
