Princess Catherine, also known as Kate Middleton, has just dropped a rare and heartwarming message from the depths of her royal recuperation!
This past Saturday (June 8), the dazzling 42-year-old Princess of Wales sent out her “royal sorries” for missing out on the flashy rehearsals for Trooping the Colour, the grand parade for King Charles’ birthday bash. Why, you ask? Because our beloved Kate is busy fighting the good fight against cancer, all while gracefully stepping out of the limelight.
In a letter that could make even the stoniest of guards shed a tear, Kate penned her thoughts to the Irish Guards, who then shared it with the world on X (formerly known as Twitter for those still stuck in the 2020s).
“I just had to scribble a note to say how ridiculously proud I am of the Regiment ahead of Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour,” Kate began, with enough charm to melt a Buckingham Palace guard’s stoic expression.
“I know you all have been trooping your tails off for months, making sure those uniforms sparkle brighter than the Crown Jewels and those drills are sharper than my grandmother’s tiara,” she continued. “Being your Colonel is the bee’s knees, and I’m absolutely gutted that I can’t be there to take the salute at this year’s Colonel review.”
Kate wrapped up her heartfelt note with, “Please pass my mega-apologies to the entire Regiment. Fingers crossed, I’ll be back representing you all before you can say ‘God save the King.’ Sending my best wishes and a royal hug to all involved.”
As if Kate’s letter wasn’t enough to warm our hearts, the Irish Guards took to Twitter and gushed, “The Irish Guards were absolutely chuffed to bits to get a letter from our superstar Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales. We’re rooting for her speedy recovery and sending her our biggest bear hugs.”
Even while facing tough times, Princess Kate proves that she’s as regal and as relatable as ever. Now, if only we could get an invite to one of those royal garden parties…
The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales this morning.
We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery and send Her our very best wishes.
