Justin Timberlake, the ageless wonder who still makes you question your dance moves, decided to take his recent DWI arrest and turn it into a comedy goldmine during his Boston performance on Saturday night (June 29).
So there he was, our 43-year-old heartthrob, standing on stage, twinkling like the North Star, ready to drop some jokes instead of beats. According to the ever-watchful TMZ, Justin started his bit in classic style, making everyone think he was going to do the usual “Who’s here for the first time?” shtick. But nope, JT had other plans.
“Anyone here tonight that is driving?” he asked with the kind of cheeky grin that could melt an iceberg. The crowd erupted into laughter and screams, probably half from the joke and half from realizing they should’ve called an Uber.
Assuring everyone that he was just kidding (because, you know, we can’t all be as suave as Justin when it comes to handling DWI charges), he then proceeded to find out who in the audience were newbies and who had been Timberlake disciples since the days of frosted tips and denim-on-denim fashion statements.
This lighthearted jest came just a couple of weeks after the infamous Sag Harbor incident, where JT got pulled over and charged with a DWI. Allegedly, he ran a stop sign and then didn’t exactly ace the roadside sobriety tests. But hey, if you’re going to make a mistake, might as well turn it into a punchline for your next show, right?
So, next time you think about grabbing the keys after a few too many, remember: Justin Timberlake made it funny, but that doesn’t mean you should try it yourself. Leave the comedy to the professionals—and the driving to someone sober!
