Jesse Williams Wants to Return to Broadway and Has Already Gotten Some Juicy Offers

Buy Me A Coffee

Broadway fans, get ready because Jesse Williams might be making his grand return to the stage—and he’s already got some tantalizing offers on the table. Yes, the guy who made jaws drop in Take Me Out (both for his acting and that infamous shower scene) is itching to swap Hollywood glitz for Broadway lights again.

The 43-year-old heartthrob-slash-actor-slash-everyone’s-dream-husband spilled the tea about his Broadway aspirations at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. While rubbing elbows in Park City, Utah, Jesse stopped by the Variety studio and graced the premiere of Hoops, Hopes & Dreams during the Shorts Programs 1. (Clearly, the man does not know how to take a day off.)

In an interview with Variety, Jesse gushed like a kid talking about their first crush: “It was a transformative part of my life. I loved doing Take Me Out. I loved being on Broadway and part of that community. I think about the play every day. I think about the experience every day.” That’s right—he’s not just reminiscing; he’s downright obsessed.

And apparently, Broadway hasn’t forgotten him either. “A couple offers have come in,” he revealed casually, like he’s not currently weighing life-changing roles. But he’s holding out for the one. “When I find the right thing, I’ll trust that feeling, listen to it, and be happy to be back on the boards.” (Translation: Broadway producers, bring your A-game if you want Jesse!)

However, it wasn’t all roses and standing ovations. Jesse admitted, “I loved everything about that experience. Well, not everything. It was incredibly difficult.” You know, just a minor detail. But even with the challenges, he’s all about that stage life and is ready to dive back in.

So, will we see Jesse Williams on Broadway again? Based on this chat, it’s less of an “if” and more of a “when.” Until then, Broadway enthusiasts can dream of front-row seats to witness this legend in action once more—just don’t forget your opera glasses (and maybe a cold drink).
