Jennifer Lopez decided her 17-year-old child, Emme, needed a little culture—so she took them to see a Broadway play starring none other than her Out of Sight co-star, George Clooney! Because when J.Lo does a family night out, she doesn’t just go for dinner and a movie—she brings her kid to witness a Hollywood legend attempt live theater.
The dynamic duo showed up at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City on April 3 for the opening night of Good Night, And Good Luck, a play that Clooney not only stars in but also co-wrote. Because, apparently, acting, directing, and aging like a fine wine weren’t enough for him—he had to become a playwright, too.
J.Lo and Emme weren’t the only ones in the house, though. The red carpet was absolutely busting at the seams with celebrities, all showing up to see if George could actually remember his lines without a teleprompter. (Spoiler: He did. He’s Clooney.)
This isn’t even J.Lo and Emme’s first Broadway night out this month! Just a couple of weeks ago, they attended the opening night of Othello—because if you’re going to be raised by Jennifer Lopez, you’re going to get a masterclass in high-brow entertainment whether you like it or not.
Oh, and by the way, J.Lo showed up drenched in elegance, wearing Saiid Kobeisy, because being casually iconic is just her natural state.
