Jason Kelce just had his first Taylor Swift concert experience, and it was more emotional than a season finale of “The Bachelor.”
This past weekend, the 36-year-old former NFL star, accompanied by his wife, Kylie Kelce, tagged along with his younger bro, Travis Kelce, for not one but TWO of the 34-year-old pop sensation’s Eras Tour shows in London. That’s right, two! Because one show is never enough when you’re diving headfirst into the glittery abyss of Swiftdom.
Fast forward to Wednesday (June 26) during the New Heights podcast, and Jason was spilling the tea about his tear-jerking moment at the concert. So, what could make a tough ex-football player cry like he just lost his fantasy league? A hat. But not just any hat—Taylor’s iconic “22” hat, gifted to a young fan during the Red portion of the show. Cue the waterworks.
“Dude, I’ve never cried at a f–king concert,” Jason confessed, probably wiping away tears with his giant football mitts. “I was literally tearing up,” he added, his voice no doubt quivering with the intensity of a thousand Swifties seeing their queen up close.
“It was f–king so special,” Jason gushed, sounding like he had just witnessed the birth of a unicorn. “It was great.”
Travis, the supportive brother and secret member of the Swiftie army, chimed in, praising his girlfriend for making “every show unique” for her fans. Because why settle for ordinary when you’re Taylor Swift?
“That’s my favorite part,” Jason said, clearly not over his emotional rollercoaster. He was referring to the “surprise song” section of the concert, where Taylor pulls out a musical rabbit from her hat. “To be able to perform those seamlessly on the spot with nothing else to hide it, that was the highlight of the evening for me.” Spoken like a true Swiftie in the making.
And if you thought Jason was done fanboying, think again. He couldn’t help but marvel at Taylor’s stamina during the marathon 3+ hour show. “Obviously, Taylor is an amazing singer-songwriter,” Jason raved, probably while contemplating how anyone could survive such a concert workout. “If I did what she did for one song, I would have to change my clothes.”
Jason Kelce, NFL legend turned Swiftie, who now knows the true meaning of emotional vulnerability thanks to Taylor Swift and a hat. It’s a love story, baby, just say yes.
