Ellen DeGeneres’ Netflix Comedy Special ‘For Your Approval’ Has A New Trailer

Buy Me A Coffee

Ellen DeGeneres is back! That’s right, after six years of doing… well, whatever rich and famous people do when they’re not hosting talk shows, Ellen is bringing the funny to Netflix with her new special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval. It’s set to hit your screens on September 24th, so cancel your plans and get your popcorn ready (unless your plan was to watch Netflix, in which case—nailed it!).

Now, in this comedy extravaganza, Ellen—who may or may not have spent her time off learning to parallel park or raising a chicken army—returns to her stand-up roots. She’s ready to dish out laughs, get personal, and address the giant, pastel-colored elephant in the room: her “banishment” from show business. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t for crimes against sweater vests.

In the trailer, we get a sneak peek of Ellen tackling the big issues—like how a simple catchphrase, “Be kind to one another,” led people to expect she was some kind of superhuman kindness machine. She jokes, “I ended every show with ‘Be kind,’ but honestly, if I’d said ‘Go f—k yourselves,’ people would’ve been pleasantly surprised to find out I’m nice!” Classic Ellen.

For anyone who’s been living under a rock (or perhaps under a stack of Ellen-branded merch), Ellen’s name made headlines back in 2020 when her staff spilled the tea about alleged workplace toxicity. Was she the Wicked Witch of Burbank? Did she force employees to dance on command? Inquiring minds wanted to know. And now, in true Ellen fashion, she’s ready to face it all head-on—with a side of humor and a chicken coop, apparently.

So, grab your yoga pants and get cozy, because Ellen’s back and asking for your approval one last time. And really, who can say no to the woman who convinced us all to dance awkwardly in front of our TVs for 19 seasons?

Check out the trailer below, and don’t forget to bring your emotional support chicken!
