Tyler Perry’s Netflix Series ‘Beauty In Black’ Has A New Trailer

Buy Me A Coffee

Tyler Perry is back and bringing the drama — and a whole lot of fabulousness — to Netflix with his latest series Beauty in Black! Yes, you heard that right, and no, it’s not your next beauty tutorial, though we’re sure you’ll pick up some life tips along the way.

Part One of this masterpiece drops on October 24, so clear your calendar, cancel your plans, tell your pets it’s time for them to learn independence, because this show is going to steal your soul (in a good way).

The cast? Oh, honey, the cast is a buffet of talent. We’ve got Taylor Polidore Williams bringing the drama, Crystle Stewart bringing the boss vibes, Amber Reign Smith probably doing something fabulous (because with a name like that, you’re automatically fabulous), and Xavier Smalls, who’s clearly ready to prove that bigger isn’t always better. Plus, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet (possibly related to ships?), Shannon Wallace, Joy Rovaris, Tamera “Tee” Kissen (no relation to Hershey’s Kisses, but just as sweet), Ursula O. Robinson, Charles Malik Whitfield, Ricco Ross, Richard Lawson, and the legendary Debbi Morgan, who has more screen presence than your WiFi signal during peak hours.

Now, for the plot twisty-twists: Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black follows two women whose lives are like a Venn diagram of chaos. On one hand, we’ve got Kimmie (played by Taylor Polidore Williams), who’s having a rough time — think kicked out by mom, searching for rent money in her couch cushions kind of rough. Meanwhile, Mallory (Crystle Stewart) is out there thriving, running a successful business and probably sipping $7 lattes while Kimmie’s still trying to make her instant coffee stretch until payday. The two end up entangled in each other’s lives like headphones in your pocket.

Drama? Check. Emotional rollercoaster? Oh, you bet. Will you be screaming at your screen saying, “Girl, don’t do it!” at least three times per episode? Absolutely.

The trailer’s out there too, but honestly, what’s the point of watching it when you know you’ll be tuning in on October 24 anyway? So grab your snacks, brace yourself, and prepare for Perry to take you on a journey filled with beauty, blackness, and, let’s be real, probably some serious side-eye moments.

And remember, beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but Beauty in Black is going to be on your screen soon!
