Today, we have Sean “Diddy” Combs, also known as the man who has more stage names than most people have pairs of socks, issuing a heartfelt apology.
In a video that hit the Internet on Sunday morning (May 19), the 54-year-old mogul addressed a blast from the past: a 2016 clip showing him in a not-so-flattering light with his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Yes, it’s time for Diddy to eat a giant slice of humble pie.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy confessed on Instagram, looking like he just got a stern talking-to from his grandma. “I was f-cked up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
Translation: I messed up big time, and no, not even my smooth dance moves can wiggle me out of this one.
Taking full responsibility, he continued, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.” To drive the point home, he admitted to seeking professional help. That’s right, Diddy went to therapy and rehab, probably while playing his greatest hits on loop.
“I had to ask God for his mercy and grace,” he added, likely after realizing that divine intervention was his best bet. “I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
There you have it. Diddy is on a mission to become a better man, one therapy session at a time. Let’s all wish him luck and maybe send him some good vibes – or at least some new stage name ideas.
