Demi Lovato has just joined forces with Grupo Firme for a brand-new musical fiesta!
The 31-year-old “Skin of My Teeth” superstar has teamed up with the Música Mexicana maestros for their sizzling bilingual jam, “Chula.” It’s like a taco truck and a pop concert had a baby—fluent in both English and Spanish, and just as fun as it sounds!
The dynamic duo first teased their upcoming musical romp earlier this month, and Demi even crashed Grupo Firme’s Austin concert like an excited fan who just got backstage passes. Spoiler alert: the footage of that epic performance is now the star of the “Chula” music video.
Demi was practically bursting with joy in her statement: “I’m over the moon to work with Grupo Firme on ‘Chula.’ Their energy is so contagious, I’m pretty sure it’s going to need its own quarantine zone. Collaborating with Eduin [Caz] has been like eating nachos with extra cheese—simply amazing. I’m beyond excited for you all to hear it and feel the joy we had making it!”
Grupo Firme’s lead singer Eduin Caz chimed in with equal enthusiasm: “We’ve been big-time Demi fans for ages. Working on ‘Chula’ with her was like a musical carnival, and I’m sure the fans are going to dance their socks off when they hear it!”
“Chula” is Demi’s second big release of 2024. Earlier in the year, she teamed up with Slash for a cover of “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” on his Orgy of the Damned album, proving she’s all about mixing things up and keeping us on our toes.
