In the latest episode of “Internet Shenanigans,” Chris Olsen has taken to social media to discuss some *ahem* revealing photos that are making the rounds online. The 26-year-old content creator is here to set the record straight and remind everyone that his life isn’t an X-rated soap opera.
So, this weekend, Chris decided it was high time to address the spicy content floating around the internet, including on X (yes, that’s still Twitter in our hearts). In a statement that’s longer than a grocery receipt, Chris laid out the facts: he never gave the thumbs up for these photos and videos to be shared online, and he’d really like people to stop playing amateur paparazzi.
Here’s the scoop from Chris’s Instagram post, served with a side of cringe-worthy honesty:
“First things first: I’m not a porn star, nor did I ever agree to have my photos plastered all over the internet like a budget billboard. I’ve had my share of ups and downs—picture me at 19 with a liver on the fritz and a sleep schedule that looked like it was curated by a raccoon. When I finally cleaned up my act and got my groove back, I thought, ‘Hey, let’s flaunt this new fitness regime on Instagram!’ Cue the photographers who wanted to ‘collaborate.’ Sounds fun, right? Well, it wasn’t always.
Some of these photographers were awesome; others, not so much. One of them had me sign a release form faster than you can say ‘what am I signing up for?’ Turns out, the only thing I signed up for was a masterclass in regret. This photographer made me uncomfortable and, being a naive 19-year-old, I didn’t quite know how to tell him to take a hike. Spoiler alert: I didn’t know how to say no, and that’s on me.
So, these pictures were taken, they ended up on a pay-to-view platform, and someone decided screenshots were a good idea. And here we are—my past is now a free-for-all. For the record, I made those videos when I was 19 and 20, and while I wasn’t exactly a beacon of assertiveness, I’m asking, politely, if we could all move on from this.
I’m working on forgiving myself for not being the best at setting boundaries, and I hope you’ll cut me some slack. If you’re going to dislike me, please do it in a way that doesn’t involve relentless online shaming. I’m putting myself out there, not as a warning label but as someone who’s learning to say ‘no’ a little better.”
Chris also decided to share this heartfelt plea in a TikTok video, which, if you’re into that sort of thing, is available below.
