So Cardi B pulled up to the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center on Friday night, not to drop beats but to drop some heat for Kamala Harris. Yep, our fave 32-year-old rap queen decided to throw her weight behind the VP in classic Cardi style — sass, snark, and zero chill included.
Now, Cardi’s speech wasn’t your average political pep talk. She took the mic, flashed that signature grin, and came out swinging. First, she hyped Kamala up as a total boss lady and inspiration, especially for women who know a thing or two about grinding from the bottom. But then, in true Cardi fashion, she saved some spicy words for a certain former president.
“Donny Dump” — yep, that’s her new name for Mr. Orange Glow himself — got roasted, medium-well. Cardi went right for the jugular, calling him out on his so-called “protection” plan for women, which is basically giving them the freedom of a potato. “Donny Dump,” she said (presumably with a dramatic eye roll), “if your version of protection is taking away rights from women, then no thanks!” We’re talking a full-on Cardi drag session. You can just picture the hand gestures and epic side-eyes.
And then, as if Cardi hadn’t already stirred the pot enough, she hopped onto Twitter to drop a few more spicy nuggets of wisdom. Someone dared to imply she was in it for the cash, and Cardi wasn’t having it. “Didn’t get a single coin for this!” she fired back. “I’ve been speaking on this stuff for free for years. Before the fame, before the money, I was out here living the real struggle, so don’t even try me on this!”
Cardi also broke down Trump’s recent gem about “protecting women whether they like it or not.” She was quick to call out the irony in telling women what to do with their own bodies, all while claiming it’s for their “protection.” Her vibe was basically, “Thanks, but no thanks, Donnie.” To Cardi, real protection is giving women choices and the support they need to make them — not playing doctor with everyone’s rights.
And she didn’t stop there! Cardi went full motivational-speaker-meets-drag-queen mode. She reminded us that, just like Kamala, she’s an underdog who’s had to scrap her way to the top. But unlike your average underdog, Cardi wasn’t going to sit back and take the slander. “Let me tell you something,” she said, with probably a finger wag in the mix, “women have to work TEN times harder. And when we succeed? People find every excuse to tear us down.” For Cardi, the haters only added fuel to her fire.
And then came the final roast — an epic teardown of Trump’s “hustle.” According to Cardi, he’s got a slick way of selling stuff no one asked for, from Trump Watches to Trump Bibles. But worst of all, she said, he’s trying to hustle Americans right out of their rights. “Tomorrow, he’ll be hustling you out of healthcare!” she joked, warning everyone to keep a close eye on those rights, because Donny Dump is ready to run off with them faster than he runs from press conferences.
In true Cardi style, she turned what could’ve been a regular political rally into a roast for the ages, and let’s be real: the only mic she dropped was truth bombs.
