Brett Goldstein Thirsted Over Jennifer Lopez Before Being Cast In ‘Office Romance’ With Her

Picture this: You’ve spent years casually (or not so casually) daydreaming about starring in a rom-com with the Jennifer Lopez. You’re Brett Goldstein, comedian, actor, and professional J.Lo enthusiast. Now imagine waking up one day and—surprise!—you’re actually starring in a Netflix rom-com with her. You’d probably ask yourself, “Did I just manifest this with the sheer force of my celebrity crush?”

Well, friends, that seems to be exactly what happened. Brett Goldstein, aka Mr. “I’ve Been Thirsting for J.Lo Since the Dawn of Time,” is about to act alongside his dream girl, and fans are absolutely living for it. Let’s rewind for a second and dive into the delicious cringe of Brett’s public adoration for J.Lo.

Flashback to 2018. Brett’s on his podcast Films to Be Buried With, where he’s definitely playing it cool about his favorite actress (spoiler: he’s not). As J.Lo’s movie Hustlers is about to drop, Brett’s feelings are…let’s just say, not subtle. He’s watching the movie like a man who’s just discovered gravity—or in this case, Jenny from the Block’s eternal youth.

“F—king hell. She’s 50! I love her!” Brett declared, practically throwing confetti at his microphone. Clearly, age is just a number—especially when you’re Jennifer Lopez, who apparently found the Fountain of Youth, drank all of it, and then built a luxury spa on top of it.

And then, as if things couldn’t get any more hilariously awkward, Brett, watching a scene where Jennifer Lopez hugs a co-star, bursts out with, “I’ve never wanted to be cuddled more.” He said it with the sincerity of a man who’s just seen a triple rainbow while riding a unicorn. “That is one of the best cuddles… give me one of your special cuddles,” he added, making everyone question if this podcast was sponsored by a blanket company.

But Brett wasn’t done yet. Oh no, he continued his public admiration by taking to Instagram, like any modern-day romantic hero. He reposted one of J.Lo’s Instagram Reels with none other than the infamous heart eyes emoji. Yes, guys. THE heart eyes emoji. Because nothing says, “I’m a professional actor and not a lovestruck teenager,” quite like publicly thirsting over your future co-star with emojis.

And now, here we are. Brett Goldstein’s J.Lo dream has somehow leaped from his podcast to reality. He’s starring alongside her, making the rest of us wonder: Can we manifest our celebrity crushes into co-star gigs too? Time to dust off those vision boards.

Brett’s journey from fangirl vibes to full-blown rom-com star should give us all hope. Not necessarily that we’ll all star in movies with our celebrity crushes (sorry, not sorry), but that sometimes, the universe does have a sense of humor. And for Brett, it delivered in the form of Jennifer Lopez—cuddles not guaranteed (yet).
