Billy Ray Cyrus is out here crying his Achy, Breaky Heart out—but this time, it’s not about a mullet-related tragedy. Nope, he’s just an extremely emotional dad watching his daughters take over the music industry while simultaneously making everyone wonder if the Cyrus family needs a reality show or a therapist.
The 63-year-old country legend hopped on Instagram on Tuesday (March 25) to give a major shoutout to his daughters Miley and Noah Cyrus, despite the swirling tornado of family drama that could rival a soap opera.
“You are witnessing in real time what it feels like for a Dad who, in less than one week’s time, has had his a** kicked and his mind blown by not one … but TWO of his own daughters,” he wrote, presumably while clutching a box of tissues.
The post featured a photo of Miley, 32, and Noah, 25, because if you’re going to cry on Instagram, you might as well do it with a visual aid.
“Flesh and blood … completely taking their art to a whole new level,” he continued, sounding like the proudest, most sentimental dad on planet Earth. “Congratulations, girls! Well done. I’m so damn proud of both of you. I’m actually crying as I write this. Thank God you can’t see me.”
Billy Ray, buddy, we all see you. The internet never misses an emotional dad moment.
His teary tribute comes as Miley gears up to release her new album Something Beautiful, while Noah just dropped her latest single, Don’t Put It All On Me—which, based on that title, might be a direct message to the entire Cyrus family.
To add another layer to this country-music family drama, Billy Ray also recently released his own song, Lost. Noah gave him a shoutout for it, proving that even in the middle of potential family chaos, at least someone’s still hitting the “like” button.
But the real plot twist? Just a month ago, Billy Ray’s son, Trace Cyrus, publicly asked his dad to “seek help” after a, let’s say, memorable performance at a Trump inauguration ball. Because why settle for just musical success when you can sprinkle in a little political controversy and public concern?
Billy Ray is crying, Miley and Noah are thriving, Trace is worried, and the Cyrus family is giving us more entertainment than half of Hollywood. Stay tuned for the next episode of Keeping Up with the Cyruses.
