Lovebirds Bill Hader and Ali Wong are still very much a thing, despite the internet’s Sherlock Holmes wannabes trying to sniff out signs of a breakup. And no, Bill’s mysterious absence from the 2025 Golden Globes wasn’t because he was busy packing up his stuff and storming off with their imaginary cat. It was all about his eyeballs. Yep, eyeballs.
Rumors of a split started swirling faster than a TikTok dance challenge after Ali won Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for her Netflix special Single Lady. While Ali basked in her much-deserved glory, fans noticed Bill was nowhere to be found. This was especially weird since last year, he was right there clapping like a proud dad when she snagged an award for Beef. (The show, not an actual argument, in case you’re wondering.)
Oh, and Ali didn’t drop a single “thank you” to Bill in her acceptance speech. Not even a “shoutout to my boyfriend who’s currently squinting at home.” Naturally, this sent the internet into full-on conspiracy mode.
But hold on, Bill’s rep swooped in to clear things up faster than you can say “awkward.” According to the rep, Bill skipped the Globes because of a pre-existing eye condition that decided to throw a tantrum at the worst possible time. His doctor told him to stay home, slap on some eye drops, and Netflix-and-chill solo. “He and Ali are still together,” the rep reassured, probably while side-eyeing everyone for jumping to conclusions.
Bill Hader’s eyes flaked on the Globes, not his relationship. Crisis averted, and we can all go back to arguing over who wore the best outfit on the red carpet.
