Bill Gates Spills the Tea on Girlfriend Paula Hurd: ‘We’re Having Fun’ (And by Fun, We Mean Billionaire Fun)

Buy Me A Coffee

Bill Gates is in love, and not with a new AI project or a futuristic toilet. Nope, the 69-year-old tech mogul is officially off the market and gushing about his serious girlfriend, Paula Hurd.

During an appearance on Today on Tuesday (February 4), Bill was busy promoting his memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings—because when you’re worth over $100 billion, people need to know your backstory. But instead of just talking about ones and zeros, he got a little personal.

“I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula,” Bill said, probably trying his best to sound cool and casual, despite the fact that Bill Gates and casual are not words that naturally belong together.

For those who missed the billionaire dating drama, Bill and Paula’s relationship first hit the news in February 2023—two years after his high-profile divorce from Melinda Gates (a.k.a. the woman who probably has the world’s best alimony deal). Meanwhile, Paula had also experienced a major life change after her husband, former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, passed away in 2019.

Now, these two powerhouses are out here living their best life. “We’re having fun,” Bill added. “Going to the Olympics and lots of great things.” Translation: front-row seats, VIP treatment, and access to snacks that normal people don’t even know exist.

The couple even made things red-carpet official at the 2024 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony last April, because nothing says “we’re serious” like dressing up to celebrate science and handing out cash prizes the way the rest of us hand out spare change.

Of course, Bill hasn’t forgotten his past. In another recent interview, he got real about his split from Melinda, calling it “the mistake I most regret.” Which is a big statement, considering this is the man who once let Clippy exist.

But hey, love is all about second chances—and if anyone can find a way to optimize a relationship for long-term success, it’s gotta be Bill Gates.
