Austin Butler Talks About Starring In ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Reboot

Buy Me A Coffee

Get ready for a swashbuckling saga involving none other than Austin Butler, who might just be sailing into the rollicking world of Pirates of the Caribbean. Yes, the very same heartthrob from The Bikeriders, now rumored to be swapping his bike for a pirate ship!

In an exclusive chat with ET, the 32-year-old actor tackled the rumors head-on, with all the grace of a sea captain balancing on a unicycle during a hurricane.

“I haven’t heard about that,” he said with a smirk that could charm the boots off a pirate. “But I absolutely loved Pirates of the Caribbean!” And who could blame him? Who wouldn’t want to be part of a franchise where eyeliner and rum are part of the daily routine?

This walk down memory plank reminded Butler of his elementary school days. “We had to make posters of our favorite things – music, actors, and for some reason, Pirates of the Caribbean was right up there.” Ah, those innocent days of fourth grade, when dreams of pirate life were as real as recess.

But let’s be honest, stepping into Jack Sparrow’s boots is no small feat. “It’s a hard one to touch because they did it so well,” Butler admitted, probably imagining himself trying to swagger like Johnny Depp without tripping over a treasure chest. “I loved what Johnny did with that,” he added, because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a bit of Depp’s pirate madness?

For those who need a quick refresher from Davy Jones’ locker, the last Pirates film, Dead Men Tell No Tales, set sail in 2017. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Black Pearl on the big screen, and who knows? Maybe Austin Butler is the new captain we didn’t know we needed. So, keep your spyglass trained on the horizon, because the seas of Hollywood might just be getting a lot more adventurous!
