Apple and Warner Bros. have just revved up the hype engine for Brad Pitt’s new Formula 1 flick, and they’ve finally hit us with the title. Drumroll, please… it’s F1! Yes, really. They must have spent months brainstorming that one.
On the fabulous Friday of July 5th, the world learned that this high-octane cinematic masterpiece will feature the eternally youthful 60-year-old Brad Pitt. In F1, Brad trades his Oscar-winning charm for a helmet and a fireproof suit to play a washed-up driver making a comeback. Because nothing screams “I’m not over the hill” like returning to a sport that flings you around corners at death-defying speeds.
Joining Brad on this adrenaline-fueled joyride is Damson Idris, the 32-year-old wunderkind who’ll be playing his teammate on the fictional APXGP team. Because every retired racer needs a plucky, young sidekick to make them look good (or at least provide a nice contrast for their wrinkles).
But wait, there’s more! The movie is crammed with star power: Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo all jumped on board this speeding bullet of a film. And who’s in the director’s seat? None other than Joseph Kosinski, the genius behind Top Gun: Maverick. Because if you can handle Tom Cruise and fighter jets, surely you can manage Brad Pitt and fast cars.
Brad has been so dedicated to his role that he’s been spotted at a slew of real-life Formula 1 events. No word on whether he’s trying to drive the cars or just figuring out where to store his Oscar on the dashboard.
Mark your calendars and prep your popcorn, because F1 is set to zoom into theaters on June 27, 2025. That gives you plenty of time to learn the difference between a pit stop and Pitt’s stop at the Botox clinic. Buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride!
