‘Another Simple Favor’ (Yes, Another One) Kicks Off SXSW 2025 – And Paul Feig May Have Just Summoned Blake Lively!

Buy Me A Coffee

A Simple Favor 2 has officially undergone a glow-up and emerged as Another Simple Favor! (Because apparently, one “simple favor” just wasn’t enough.)

And guess what? This highly anticipated sequel is set to open the 2025 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, on March 7—which means we might just get the grand, possibly revenge-fueled return of Blake Lively to the red carpet!

Blake Lively’s Public Return? Maybe! Possibly! Hopefully!
If Blake shows up, it will be her first major public appearance since the It Ends with Us lawsuit, which means the fashion world should start mentally preparing for whatever iconic, statement-making outfit she decides to roll up in. (Will it be a passive-aggressive dress? A suit made of legal documents? A power blazer that files lawsuits on its own? Only time will tell.)

Paul Feig Is Jazzed – And Possibly Trying to Start a New Career?
Director Paul Feig, who has already blessed the world with Bridesmaids and Spy, dropped an enthusiastic statement about SXSW, saying:

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at my favorite festival in the world, where we successfully launched *Bridesmaids* and *Spy*. I’ve avoided making sequels to my films, but these characters were just too much fun not to revisit.”

Translation: I was peer-pressured into making this movie because the first one was so good, and I don’t regret it at all.

Paul then added that watching the film with the SXSW audience is a “bucket list event” for him, and now that he can cross it off, his next big life goal is… playing drums for Dwight Yoakam’s band. (Yes, really.)

Paul Feig: Award-winning director. Sartorial icon. Aspiring country drummer. We love a multi-talented king.

Will the Whole Cast Be There? Feig’s Statement Seems to Say So!
Based on Paul’s wording, it sounds like the whole gang—Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Michele Yeoh, Elizabeth Banks, Alex Borstein, and Feig himself—could be showing up at SXSW. If true, that means we’re getting a deliciously chaotic, gossip-worthy reunion, and let’s be honest… that’s worth the price of admission alone.
