America Ferrera Opens Up About Playing a Trump-Supporter in ‘Dumb Money’

America Ferrera spilled the beans on her decision to jump into the shoes of a white, Trump-supporting lady in the movie Dumb Money.

The 2023 cinematic masterpiece is a spin-off from the book The Antisocial Network by the mighty Ben Mezrich. It tells the tale of a gang of rookie investors taking on a squad of billionaires, transforming GameStop into the hottest sensation since sliced bread.

She went on, “What intrigued me about that character was our assumptions about what a working-class, struggling mom thinks and believes in this crazy world.”

“I genuinely empathize with that character. It wasn’t about the moolah. She was fueled by a sense of an idea.”

“That was her jackpot โ€” the feeling of power and being part of an idea,” cheekily added the Latina actress, proving that sometimes, it’s not about the green bills but the thrill of joining the wild rollercoaster of ideas.
