Adele, the superstar with pipes that could make a cat yodel, has hopped on the tribute train for none other than the legendary Matthew Perry! You know, Chandler Bing from Friends, the guy who could deliver a sarcastic one-liner like he was shooting fish in a barrel. Well, he shuffled off this mortal coil at the tender age of 54 (way too soon, really), and Hollywood has been pouring out their love like it’s going out of style.
Now, Adele, the diva of divas, decided to take a little break from her Vegas shenanigans to give a nod to the man of the hour. In the middle of her spectacle of a show, she decided to share some thoughts.
Adele commended Matthew for being as open as a book about his battles with addiction and sobriety. She said: “He was so open with his struggles with addiction and sobriety, which I think is incredibly, incredibly brave.” She thinks it’s gutsy, and you know what? We agree! After all, she’s been spilling the tea about her own journey to the sober side of life lately, and it takes one to know one, right?
Adele couldn’t resist tossing some love in the direction of Chandler Bing, Matthew’s iconic Friends character. She declared, “That character’s gonna be etched in my brain until I croak!” And you know what? She might be onto something there. Chandler’s sarcastic zingers and awkward dance moves were probably the best comedic combo since peanut butter and jelly. Bravo, Matthew! We’ll be missing you and your witty one-liners.
Adele paused her Las Vegas show to pay tribute to Matthew Perry, who was found dead Saturday in L.A.
“I’ll remember that character for the rest of my life,” she said of his role as Chandler Bing. “He’s probably the best comedic character of all time.” https://t.co/SWupBzn9MB pic.twitter.com/vvSurghocd
