YouTube star Ben Potter, aka Comicstorian, exited the stage of life prematurely at the tender age of 40 over the weekend, and now we’ve got the scoop on what went down.
For those of you living under a rock, this guy had a whopping 3 million subscribers tuning in to his comic-centric channel.
On Saturday (June 8), Ben was involved in a one-car wreck that sadly sent him to the great comic shop in the sky.
According to a press release from the Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred at the not-so-funny time of 9:19 am local time on I-25 near Fort Collins.
“Ben, a Windsor resident, was cruising south on I-25 at milepost 267.5 when his trusty silver Toyota 4Runner decided it wanted a closer look at the right shoulder of the interstate. From there, it careened over the frontage road running alongside the highway before auditioning for a role in a car flip scene,” the press release humorously detailed (via People).
Despite rocking his seatbelt like a responsible adult, Ben “succumbed to injuries from the crash while at the scene.” Talk about a plot twist no one saw coming!
The release also mentioned that neither booze nor zoom-zoom speeds seemed to be the villains here, leaving the mystery of what caused the crash unsolved.
Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband, Ben Potter, passed away in an unfortunate accident.
To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for.…
